TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING CONTRACT (05/01/2021) To make a booking with Kylesku Lodges the lead guest must be at least 18 years of age at the time of booking. If the person making the booking is different to the lead guest, they may be held responsible for cancellation or damages.
When you submit a booking via our online reservation system you will receive an automatically generated booking summary by email to the email address you provide in the booking form. This does not form a contract between us. A contract shall only arise when the booking is confirmed by email.
Only the lead guests and named members of the booking party are allowed to use the lodge and facilities at Kylesku Lodges. Any visitors are only allowed with the owners permission.
PAYMENT Bookings are confirmed when the deposit of 25% has been received. The balance of the rental will be due for payment 6 weeks before the arrival date; you will be sent email notification that the balance is due. If the balance of any rental is not paid by the due date, the booking will be treated as cancelled. Any bookings within 6 weeks of arrival must be paid in full on booking.
CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations must be immediately notified to us by the lead guest in writing (by letter or email) directly to Kylesku Lodges, Kylesku, Lairg, Sutherland, IV27 4HW(email: firstname.lastname@example.org)
You may cancel your holiday at any time, however the following cancellation fees apply:
Number of weeks prior to arrival: Subsequent cancellation charge on holiday cost -
- 6 weeks* (over 42 days): Full deposit
- 3-6 weeks* (21-42 days): 50% of the full accommodation cost
- 2-3 weeks* (14-21 days): 75% of the full accommodation cost
- Less than 2 weeks* (under 14 days): 100% of the accommodation cost
*If the lodge is successfully re-let we will refund monies paid up to the value of the re-let less any fees incurred.
Covid-19 restrictions/Lock down. If guests are unable to travel due to national or regional lockdowns we will move the booking to dates within the following 12 month period.
We strongly advise guests to take out a travel insurance policy which specifically covers booking cancellations, giving you the peace of mind that you will get your money back if you need to cancel.
Bookings made between April 8th 2020 and Jan 4th 2021, for holidays starting after 01 August 2020 have cancellation protection cover, meaning that if you cancel between 60 days and 2 days before check-in date, you will receive a full refund of the lodging costs you have paid. You will be reimbursed at the check-out date of original booking. If you cancel two days or one day before check-in date or on the day of check-in, you will not be reimbursed for your booking costs under any circumstances. Example: for a check-in on Saturday you must cancel no later than Wednesday. check-in date of the original or replacement booking, whichever has the later arrival date.
MAKING CHANGES TO YOUR BOOKING: All changes made (including cancellations and amendments, such as moving dates) are subject to a £20.00 administration fee per booking.
CANCELLATION BY THE OWNER If for any reason Kylesku Lodges have to cancel the booking you will be refunded the full amount of the booking. If we have to terminate your holiday early you will be refunded part of the lodging costs based on the time remaining of the booking. This will be the full extent of the liability of the Owners. No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable.
COVID-19 If a guest develops symptoms during their stay at Kylesku Lodges, Scottish Government Guidelines must be followed. This includes:
- informing Kylesku Lodges immediately
- booking a test via NHS Inform
- returning home to self isolate.
We are members of the Association of Scottish Self-Caterers (ASSC) and follow the Covid-19 risk assessment and cleaning protocols recommended by the ASSC endorsed by the Scottish & UK Governments. We are also participants in the Visit Scotland ‘We’re Good to Go Scheme’.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE Check in is from 1600 to 1800 on the day of arrival. If you need to arrive out with these times, this must be agreed by mail or telephone 24 hours in advance. Check out is 0900 on the day of your departure (later departures are strictly by arrangement only) in order that the property can be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next arrival.
On departure, you are requested to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition, strip the beds and place the bed linen in the appropriate bags. Remove all rubbish to the large bins next to reception and take away all glass bottles to the recycling. We reserve the right to make a charge of £35 for extra cleaning if the accommodation is not left in a satisfactory condition.
Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi is all included in the cost of your holiday.
CARE OF THE PROPERTY Guests are asked to leave their lodge clean and tidy. We ask that any breakages or damage should be reported immediately to us, as we understand accidents happen. Failure to do this may result in you being charged for any breakages or damage. Any missing inventory from the property on your departure may also be charged for.
BBQs These must not be used on the wooden balconies due to fire risks. They should instead be positioned on the gravel or rocks away from the lodge and grassy areas. They should never be left unattended and must be extinguished once finished cooking.
SMOKING & CANDLES Smoking (including vaping) and candles are not allowed in any part of the lodges and a flat fee of £500 will be made if there is any evidence of this. Please do not leave cigarette butts lying on the ground beside the lodge, not only do they look unsightly but present a potential risk of fire.
INTERNET ACCESS Internet access is provided for guests’ use. You agree to reasonable and lawful usage of this service.
DOGS Well behaved dogs are allowed subject to prior confirmation and approval. Please add on the relevant dog surcharge at the time of booking. £20 per dog, per week or part week/per lodge entered). We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per property. Please also note that as the pet’s owner you are responsible for controlling your pet and clearing up after them - dogs play where children play, so please clean up after they foul and use the bins provided. If pets become a nuisance to other users and the situation cannot be resolved we reserve the right to request that the pet be removed from site.
Dogs must be house-trained, kept under proper control and not allowed on the furniture, and especially the beds, nor left unattended in the property. Dog hairs are to be removed from carpets. Dog owners will be held responsible for any damage caused to the property and its contents by their dog and for any extra cleaning required.
Please note, it is just as important to pick up dog waste in the countryside as it is in urban areas. Dog waste can carry disease which is very harmful to livestock by contaminating pasture and water sources. Please help to minimise the risk by always picking up and responsibly disposing of your dog poop even in the most remote areas and by ensuring that dogs never stray into fields where livestock are kept.
WOOD BURNING STOVES (Twin Peaks, The Passing Place) Wood-burning stoves may only be used once whoever is designated to operate the stove has read the instruction sheet (no one under the age of 18 is allowed to operate the stove). Operating / lit wood-burning stoves are not to be left unattended at any time. For your own safety, only wood and kindling should be burned in the wood-burner. Do not burn any rubbish or any other form of fuel or firelighters in the wood-burner.
A supply of wood is included for accommodation with wood-burning stoves. Additional supplies of wood and kindling may be available, during times when the site is serviced, for a reasonable charge.
COMPLAINTS Every effort is made to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. However, if you have any problem or cause for complaint, it is essential that you contact us immediately to give us the chance to resolve it. We value your custom and want you to return. We are on site, and will do our best to resolve any problem.
LIABILITY Kylesku Lodges, will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to guests’ personal property and vehicles during their stay.
RIGHT OF ENTRY We shall be allowed reasonable right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.
ACCURACY OF DETAILS The website is as accurate as possible but cannot be warranted, nor do the descriptions form any contract. Whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy of property descriptions and images, the facilities and services may alter. We reserve the right to alter or improve any of the subjects without notice.
DISCLAIMER It is your responsibility to ensure you and all members of your party are familiar with our terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure you and all members of your party are covered by appropriate insurance. Whilst part of the experience of staying at the lodges is being free to roam around the land this is intentionally left to be natural. By completing a booking with Kylesku Lodges you agree to observe our guidance and recommendations and take full responsibility for your own safety.
